We were stuck between a rock and a hard spot with our heat pumps We moved into a condo that has two of them in the garage and air handlers on each floor. They are about 17 years old. One of them stopped working. I went and got bids from other HVAC companies that neighbors used. The bids were around $36k to replace the one defective unit. The issue was the original builder, knowing the laws were changing to eliminate freon put these units in anyway. So you would need to put in a current non-freon system that uses bigger pipes for the fluid. And our building is all concrete. So you have to find the lines by ripping the walls up, drilling new holes in the concrete and also replace the air handler which is buried in the ceiling with an access panel that is too small. Satrap came out and came up with a better solution. He replaced the unit but with a more powerful machine and came up with a creative solution. It was half the price of the other bids. He is reliable, shows up when he commits, friendly and explains what he is doing. Highly recommend.
